Why is pete wentz not in what a catch
Last week, after months of anticipation and speculation about whether it would be Fall Out Boy's swan song , the rockers finally premiered their "What a Catch, Donnie" video on MTV. Seems the version that first premiered featured an extended — and rather awful-looking — computer-generated shot of FOB bassist Pete Wentz saluting from the deck of a sinking ship. It didn't quite fit with the rather somber feel of the rest of the "Donnie" clip, and according to Wentz, the entire band was pretty embarrassed that people actually saw it.
It takes away from a video that I think is a really good piece. When we're editing [them] until the last minute, we have very bad luck with people putting up the wrong edits of our videos," he continued. We've had product-placement issues, we've had wrong edits put up, it's just hilarious, kind of. If you ever get a job for Pete Wentz, you have been warned. Did you think about that?! Think: romance novels, but in TV form.
Pete is a diehard and has seen every single one. I was angry, but I was angry at myself. I hated that what I was going through at the time eclipsed what the band was doing. I felt like there was a part of me that wanted to abandon this ship and just go back and hang out in the suburbs of Chicago.
Before Fall Out Boy went on hiatus in , the band were physically and mentally done. A hiatus had to happen, but it was hard for Pete to accept at the time. So all the things that you would do with an ex is what I wanted to do.
A post shared by Pete Wentz petewentz. The very first thing Pete can remember is being on a beach with his father, and his father throwing a horse shoe crab into the ocean. Pete credits Sloth and the crew with being the people who flipped his whole perspective on life.
Those were always the most relateable people in movies to me. On February 4, , the band announced their hiatus was over, via their official webpage.
They released a new single off their upcoming album, a video for the single, upcoming tour dates and a pre-order campaign for the new album titled Save Rock and Roll.
Originally, the band had planned to release a full-length LP in the summer of However, after several delays, the departures of both Patterson and Rexha, and general uncertainty about the band's future, the group reshuffled, scrapping the original album and announcing plans to release a mixtape, write new material, and continue to remix tracks by other artists. With regards to the band's sound, Wentz has said that during the time he took off to spend with his family, he began to be inspired by Jamaican reggae songs such as Culture's "Two Sevens Clash" and The Gladiators's "Warriors".
Wentz then contacted producer Sam Hollander Gym Class Heroes, Cobra Starship, Hey Monday and discussed the idea with him to mash up ska, dance and reggae with 80s British rock and pop to create a new experimental sound.
On January 12, , the band announced via Facebook that vocalist Bebe Rexha was no longer a member of the group. Wentz has bipolar disorder, and has taken medication for it since he was eighteen. In February , Wentz attempted suicide by taking an overdose of the anxiety medication Ativan, and as a result, spent a week in the hospital. In , Wentz started dating singer Ashlee Simpson.
In April , Simpson and Wentz confirmed their engagement, and were married on May 17, , at Simpson's parents' residence in Encino, California, with her father officiating the ceremony. Two weeks later, she confirmed her pregnancy. Her surname changed from Simpson to Wentz and she was briefly known professionally as Ashlee Simpson-Wentz. Simpson gave birth to their son, Bronx Mowgli Wentz , on November 20, Wentz said the reason behind the name Bronx "comes back to a very specific story between me and my wife.
But I would just like to say that it wasn't because either of us were trying to give our son street cred. At the end of the day, we like the name. Brooklyn gets a lot of love. It's time for the Bronx to get a little bit of love too. On February 8, , Simpson filed for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences".
